Chef Chen
Chef Chen has been teaching as a Chinese Chef instructor for ten years at the department of Chinese Culinary Arts in the National Kaohsiung Hospitality College. Due to his enthusiastic and broad-minded personality, Chef Chen not only in the campus, but also in all circles of Taiwan is very celebrated by the nickname of “A-chong Master” or “the little sun of southern Taiwan”.
A-chong Master had been in the industry for almost two decades before starting to teach. He experienced many years of hands-on apprenticeship in various local Chinese Si-chuan restaurants, and soon after began working in 5-star hotels. He was a Luxurious Club chef in the Hanlai Hotel, known as the best hotel in Kaohsiung at the time, and soon after was invited to teach in the college.
Thanks to his long-time industry experiences and showmanship, A-chong Master is responsible for State Banquets organized by the state and college presidential offices, not to mention frequently invited to be the demo chef on TV cooking programs. In 2003, he was assigned by the government to conduct a pro-cooking workshop for a famed Chinese restaurant in Ames, Iowa. A-chong Master's enthusiasm, commitment, and pride in the cooking profession are initially obvious and this makes him a highly respected chef.
With the mission of becoming the best teacher he can be A-chong Master is now pursuing his master degree to update his kitchen lab courses. His goal is to be the most educated chef in Taiwan, and he is well on his way.
